The Cannes Lions awards are internationally recognised as the most prestigious in advertising and communications celebrating creativity across all areas of business.
With a total of 36 Lions, Australia was ranked #5 in the world at Cannes 2019, behind the US, the UK, Brazil and France.
On September 19, over 300 industry professionals joined us for breakfast to hear from a panel of jury members, winning creatives and brand marketers on their thoughts on this year’s winning campaigns and what they believe it takes for Australian advertising to succeed on the word stage.

As the official Australian Representative to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, The Misfits facilitate the selection process by inviting nominations for the jury spots allocated to Australia each year for both Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia.
The Cannes Lions Team make the ultimate selection of jurors, ensuring that each jury contains an even balance of geography, gender, skill and network.
Nominations for the 2020 Cannes Lions Jury have closed. Spikes Asia nominations will take place in May 2020.

On behalf of The Misfits, we congratulate all of the winners from the 66th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Cannes Lions sets the benchmark for excellence in creative communications and we recognise the winners’ hard work, dedication and innovative thinking.
In 2019, Australia ranked fifth globally scoring 36 Lions overall. The final count was one Grand Prix, two Gold Lions, 13 Silver Lions and 20 Bronze Lions.
